Current agricultural practices are neither economically nor environmentally sustainable and India's yields for many agricultural commodities are low. Poorly maintained irrigation systems and almost universal lack of good extension services are among the factors responsible. Poor roads, rudimentary market infrastructure, and excessive regulation hamper farmers’ access to markets.
 
 
Over and above this, large tracts of wasteland and saline land lie idle due to lack of technology and resources, in spite of their growing stature in the context of the global energy crisis, as possible areas for cultivation of high yield energy crops.
Abellon Agrisciences is an initiative set up with the vision to contribute to the enhancement of income and employment generation opportunities in the agriculture sector, and initiatives that promote an inclusive growth model involving farmers, experts, and the government, leading to larger social change and progress.
